Dear you…
Today is our second day.
It’s the day we hiked Grandfather Mountain and went to see the beautiful fireflies…. We fought but this was magical… and I still remember it as a moment where I got to spend with you and it will last forever in me…. It was beautiful. Wild, green, blue, and so on… It was quiet in that way that makes you feel small but steady.
The road to the mountain was a big mess… We were so tired… we slept in the car…. I still can’t believe we slept in the car before the hike. Just us, tucked into that little space. As we hiked up we saw couple struggling on the hike. We had to go around them.
It wasn’t as hard as Precipice in Acadia, but it was still something real. Still fun. But the fireflies… it was beautiful… magical…. we talked to locals… got information…. Thank you for leading us there… to the pink bed trail…. It reminds me that we can get through things, even the bumpy roads and sleepy starts. Even the stuff that doesn’t go perfectly.
Today was another good one. Another little piece I’ll carry with me.
v/r,
I
