Being patient comes in different forms. From emotional patience to interpersonal patience. From situational patience to self patience. As for me, being self patient and emotionally patient are what I need the most work on.
Most important aspect I’ve been missing is practicing mindfulness. Staying present with thoughts and feelings without rushing to fix things help better stay grounded.
Mindfulness requires doing body scan of myself from top of my head to my toes from sensation to tension. It also requires me to practice mindful observation by focusing on details on something whether it’s other person or an object.
Being mindful requires your brain to slow down and focus on other things that I might be missing when emotions come over me.
I can practice mindfulness when I clean. When I do dishes. When I eat. When I cook. And so on. Focusing on every little details around me will help me slow down and focus on details that have me get more context.
