I’m writing letter to you today while writing your Easter day letter. Happy soon to be Easter day. I know we don’t celebrate it, but I thought it’d be nice to celebrate it. I looked stuff up to share with you about Easter today..

Easter is a resurrection day for Jesus Christ which happened on third day of his crucifixion and is considered to be the oldest festival in Christian calendar. What the day is supposed to symbolize is hope and new life.

Eggs symbolizes new life or rebirth, bunnies represent fertility and spring, lilies represent purity and resurrection, and cross represent sacrifice.

The egg supposedly came as a representation of Jesus tomb, where Jesus “cracked opened” his tomb after being buried. The painting of eggs in certain tradition is red, which come from Christ’s blood. For bunnies, it came from German folklore! It’s supposed to be a German immigrants that came to America to bring in good ideas. Or hare that lays colorful eggs for good children.

We just came from Germany and we were wondering why Easter was heavily celebrated there, since we saw so much Easter decorations. We thought it was because they were heavily Christian population, but I guess I was wrong!

Anyhow… Happy Easter…

I’m thankful for you…

I love you
