I want to focus on what we call, compassion over perfection. This is what makes other people feel more worthy… But what does this mean and how does it apply? How does this make me better….
The saying “compassion over perfection” just means choosing to meet yourself (and others) with understanding instead of judgment. This may be hard, because you have to see flaws and mistakes as invitations and not as a failure.
Here’s an example…. You or your friend showed up late to an important event… would you say “you ruined everything” or “you’re human”? If you choose the second option, you are choosing compassion over perfection. You accept people have flaws and treat it as invitation to open up for bettering oneself. That’s how you let yourself and others know that sometimes people aren’t at their best. There isn’t a single person who doesn’t mess up. And that they are worthy of love and connection just like everyone else.
